Happy Orthodox Christmas!

Another excuse to extend all things good and joyous of the Christmas season, and to remember the birth of the baby Jesus, our Savior, is always a good thing to me. I can play and sing Christmas songs all the longer. I can watch any Christmas themed movie that I missed out on. I can give a few more gifts. I also like to honor traditions and celebrations of my friends. Not only does my own heritage stem from far and wide, but I’ve come to know many wonderful people ‘from the east’, and I do mean further east than New York and Boston, and even further east than England and the rest of the UK! And so I like to stretch my Christmas season to include January 7th, when Eastern European Christians, Christians of Slavic descent, and other Orthodox Christians celebrate their Christmas.

And so, I wish you all a very Happy Orthodox Christmas weekend!
