Kerri Bennett Williamson was born and raised along the eastern side of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and has lived well west of and amid the American Rockies since the early 1990s. U.S. and U.K. descent, she’s keenly in touch with whatever personal ancestry any current research, novel in the works, or mood strikes.
Her heart belongs to North America, especially from the Western Prairies to the Northern Pacific Ocean territories. She favors a simpler country life, away from the hustle bustle of big cities. She’s long been inclined towards the eighteen hundreds, when horse power meant something else.
Kerri’s childhood included rich creative playgrounds on ranches and farms. She grew up active: hiking, camping, trekking, running, swimming, skiing, and horseback-riding in Alberta, Canada. She vacationed in Jasper, Banff and Waterton National Parks; traveled throughout British Columbia, and also visited Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington States.
Beginning in her teens, Kerri worked as a freelance artist in various mediums. She continued honing her varied styles on both commercial and commissioned works until, as a wife and mother, she became so busy nurturing and teaching her young children that she began putting away her pencils, pens and paints in exchange for intermittent literary experiments and employment in the writing field. Always an artist and then an author of several non-fiction books, Kerri took another artistic and literary turn by finally settling into truth-inspired fictional creations.
Deeply connected to her British, pilgrim, pioneer, early and Native American ancestors, and especially inspired by favorite English literary classics, she found her personalized feminine genre niche in the romantic historical-setting realm. Kerri has numerous novels to her credit, is usually working on the next, with an abundance of story outlines always on the back-burner.
Long immersed in eighteen hundreds literature, she prefers reading and writing novels from that century. Romantically inclined but not married to modern romance formulas, her stories offer more in the way of female relationships and human-nature threads. Her novels are fairly women-centric, while featuring men, and sometimes children in the mix. Families, follies and the fun that happens when people get together, but especially when ladies and gentlemen tangle.
Beyond life experience itself, Kerri’s novels are most inspired by the likes of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and Elizabeth Gaskell. Other fictional works that motivate her are such as Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Little House on the Prairie and Larkrise to Candleford. She aspires to emulate what she loves to read, while writing what she loves.
Wife, mother and grandmother, Kerri resides with her husband, and family flitting in and out, within a creative sanctuary amid the American Rocky Mountains. Though still an occasional painter of canvasses, Kerri has found that painting with words seems her more regularly favored art medium.

Well, you look as pretty as the first Claudia I knew! Thanks! – one of my daughters took the pic from our kitchen balcony, and another tweaked the sky color to match my hair, hat and coat. We liked the amber/golden effect. It was one of those quick shots that just happened to work out alright.
