Kerri Bennett Williamson was born and raised along the eastern side of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and has lived well west of and amid the American Rockies since the early 1990s. U.S. and U.K. descent, she’s keenly in touch with whatever personal ancestry any current research, novel in the works, or mood strikes.
Her heart belongs to North America, especially from the Western Prairies to the Northern Pacific Ocean territories. She favors a simpler country life, away from the hustle bustle of big cities. She’s long been inclined towards the eighteen hundreds, when horse power meant something else.
Kerri’s childhood included rich creative playgrounds on ranches and farms. She grew up active: hiking, camping, trekking, running, swimming, skiing, and horseback-riding in Alberta, Canada. She vacationed in Jasper, Banff and Waterton National Parks; traveled throughout British Columbia, and also visited Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington States.
Beginning in her teens, Kerri worked as a freelance artist in various mediums. She continued honing her varied styles on both commercial and commissioned works until, as a wife and mother, she became so busy nurturing and teaching her young children that she began putting away her pencils, pens and paints in exchange for intermittent literary experiments and employment in the writing field. Always an artist and then an author of several non-fiction books, Kerri took another artistic and literary turn by finally settling into truth-inspired fictional creations.
Deeply connected to her British, pilgrim, pioneer, early and Native American ancestors, and especially inspired by favorite English literary classics, she found her personalized feminine genre niche in the romantic historical-setting realm. Kerri has numerous novels to her credit, is usually working on the next, with an abundance of story outlines always on the back-burner.
Long immersed in eighteen hundreds literature, she prefers reading and writing novels from that century. Romantically inclined but not married to modern romance formulas, her stories offer more in the way of female relationships and human-nature threads. Her novels are fairly women-centric, while featuring men, and sometimes children in the mix. Families, follies and the fun that happens when people get together, but especially when ladies and gentlemen tangle.
Beyond life experience itself, Kerri’s novels are most inspired by the likes of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and Elizabeth Gaskell. Other fictional works that motivate her are such as Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Little House on the Prairie and Larkrise to Candleford. She aspires to emulate what she loves to read, while writing what she loves.
Wife, mother and grandmother, Kerri resides with her husband, and family flitting in and out, within a creative sanctuary amid the American Rocky Mountains. Though still an occasional painter of canvasses, Kerri has found that painting with words seems her more regularly favored art medium.
Hi Kerri – Love your website! Do you have pictures of the Pauline dolls somewhere?
Hi Shari!
Thanks!
I hope to put pictures of Pauline dolls on ‘AustenBronte.com’ someday soon-ish. That is where I plan to share my love of ‘Regency to Victorian’ related things of beauty…
Hi again Shari and any other Pauline doll aficionados!
Update correction: ‘AustenBronte.com’ has been absorbed here and the AustenBronteGaskell wordpress space has become ‘A Place for Pauline Bjonness-Jacobsen Dolls’ instead, so that is where all the dolly fun is going to be, eventually.
Hi Kerri – I just LOVE the painting “Colorful Women” that I saw on the “Woman” page on Facebook – I don’t think I’ve ever resonated with a piece of artwork so much but keep being drawn back to it. Can you please contact me at bobbi@askcoachbobbi.com. As a Self Empowerment & Life Transition Specialist – it’s women in transition that i empower & coach. I would love to hang a copy of this picture or a print in my office.
Regards,
Coach Bobbi

Thank you so much, Bobbi! What a lovely compliment! It sounds like you are doing great things for many women, and that is a very good thing! I’ll e-mail you about the painting/prints.
FANTASTICOSCRUMPTIOUS! Sooooooooooo impressed with you Darlin’ and with your super-summa accomplishments! I am seeing the color green faintly here…over the mere fact that you dream it and then do it whereas my dreams mostly stay up there. Sniff.
Good luck always to you and to your coterie of grand and talented supporters around you, not forgetting any of your canine/critter companions who absolutely must be included here!
With awe, respect..and love, VEE
Wow, Vee! You are too sweet! Thank you so very much for your kind and generous compliments! Most of my dreams are mostly dreams too, m’dear! Just can’t do it all, only a little here or there!
Hugs and love in return!
Kerr
I love your blog! Thank you so much for checking out mine
~Claudia
Thanks, Claudia! It was my pleasure! You are doing many cool and colorful things over there at your blog site! I enjoyed looking around. Oh, and I love your name. It’s funny, but, I was just thinking yesterday, about a beautiful sweet girl named Claudia, from long ago and far away. Very long ago – she’s the first babysitter I ever remember – and that’s too many years ago to mention!
Why thank you! 🙂 It is rare for me to hear of another Claudia out there; it’s certainly not a very common name! I think I was named after one of my parents’ friends as well as a Party of Five character… Anyways, thank you again! I adore your profile picture too. It is stunning with your hair in that lighting!
Well, you look as pretty as the first Claudia I knew! Thanks! – one of my daughters took the pic from our kitchen balcony, and another tweaked the sky color to match my hair, hat and coat. We liked the amber/golden effect. It was one of those quick shots that just happened to work out alright.
wonderful blog really enjoyed it
Thanks for your nice compliment!
You are truly gifted!
Greg
Thank you so much for your compliment!
Hi Kerri:
I love your art! I’m an artist too. http://fh-art.net. But that’s not why I’m contacting you. I’ve recently started a website at http://femininefusion.net that deals with quotes made only by women and with that I’ve started a FB page. https://www.facebook.com/femininefusions. My question is could I use your colourful woman painting as my image instead of stick women I have now on my facebook page. I would put a link to your website from my page.
Keep up the wonderful work…
Thanks for the lovely compliment, Francine! Of course you can use the image of my painting if you give me credit or a link to my website here. All the best in your artistic and feminine endeavors!
