“She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me, and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men.”

In keeping with the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, here is another quote from that work, and in accompaniment is this ‘Sally’ painting by Edmund Blair Leighton, a Pre-Raphaelite artist who delved into some feminine romantic Regency themes.
