Comments on Fionna, chapter 22
I can’t wait for the next chapter and I can’t wait for the book! E.S.
The dynamics between the sisters are so interesting. I appreciate Fionna’s insights, her faith and her wisdom. I’m also eagerly anticipating the book!!
I read every week!
I could feel Fiona’s “heartbrokenness”, at feeling the close bond with her sisters fading into a thing of the past. A lump formed in my throat at the feeling of helplessness and deep sadness… the longing she expressed so “resignedly” at the end of the chapter.
It is truly sad, indeed, to grow apart… to feel helpless as the bond once shared so joyfully, transforms into a longed for memory. Oh, that those we hold dear could remain forever that joyous part of our daily life that they once were.
Thank heaven for treasured memories, however bittersweet it may become to recall them…
(Perhaps even Charlotte cannot bear to think of her sisters in peril, and so distances herself from her own pain via her attempt at a “practical” assessment…a defense mechanism of sorts…an attempt at coping?)
Still, I believe, that our underlying bonds of love and “oneness” are still there, at our deepest core, perhaps at the level of our souls, where our truest self resides.
I love it. Keri your story touches my heart everytime I read it.
