Comments on Fionna, chapter 13
‘Victoria would often read and I would often draw. Victoria was continually my subject…’
A special thank-you to my youngest daughter for her surprise gift to me of the sketch for this chapter, and a belated thank-you for the ‘Prairie Girl’ painting that she also did for this site.
Further gratitude for many generously complimentary comments and emails which encourage me greatly to try to ‘become a novelist when I grow up’!
It had been a while, due to my own responsibilities, since I’d been able read here. But, I found myself, once again drawn in, and feeling the humanity of Fiona, Victoria, and Mother Jones. How many times have we not felt like each of them! I was moved to tears several times as I related to them…first one then another, etc. What a profoundly beautiful reflection on our humanity and our deep need for our Creator.
Oh, what beauty there is in knowing that the goodness we extend to one another can reveal the face of God to one in such need of it!
What a beautiful drawing! That was my first reaction in entering this chapter, and then… who is the artist? To your dear daughter: Beautiful!
